Research & Publications

The Miami Sarcoma Group is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge in the field of musculoskeletal disease and oncology. All physician members of the team have published in their individual areas of interest. Current publications included both clinical and basic science research. Our commitment to clinical research demonstrates our ongoing interest in our patients and their functional and oncologic outcomes. We are constantly striving to improve our understanding of current treatment standards so we can maximize the quality of our ongoing care. We are equally committed to basic science research, as our ability to optimally treat cancer in the future depends on basic science research at the cellular level. In addition, the Miami Sarcoma Group works together with the University of Miami Tissue Bank
in the study of bone allograft and bone products (utilized in the treatment of bone tumors and bone defects).

The growth and spread of sarcomas occurs through blood vessels.   Interrupting the spread or metastatic process is the central focus of the Sarcoma Biology Lab.
